Colin Lee from Surrey, BC has been piping for most of his 21 years, having started at the age of 5. He was born into a family of pipers, with his father and uncle being the founders and leaders of the Simon Fraser University Pipe Band.
Colin has won many piping prizes, including the BC Pipers’ Association Grand Aggregates in grades 4, 3, 2 and twice in grade 1. Colin won 1st in the Under 18 piobaireachd at Cowal, and he won the 2005 Nicol-Brown Invitational in Troy, New York, taking 1st in the Piobaireachd event. Colin finished 2nd in the 2006 George Sherriff Memorial Invitational in Ontario, taking 1st in the Piobaireachd event.
Since going professional in 2006, Colin won the B Piobaireachd at the London Competition, the Silver Medal and B Marches at the 2008 Northern Meetings in Inverness, and many other prizes in piobaireachd and light music. Colin is now competing in the Gold Medal class at Oban and Inverness.
Colin has been a member of the SFU Pipe Band for several years and has won two world championships with the band.
